At Renue.eco, we aspire to be a regenerative marketplace a space that values progress over perfection. We recognize that no brand is flawless, but what truly matters is the commitment to evolve.
Our sustainability criteria are designed to guide brands toward measurable, positive change.
Some requirements may seem ambitious, yet we welcome every brand that genuinely aims to make a difference.
We’ve defined six key areas of sustainability, and we ask each seller to demonstrate compliance with at least one sub-criterion in every category.
As our platform grows, so will our expectations. We invite our community of sellers to grow with us embracing deeper commitments to sustainability and regeneration with each step forward.
It’s not about being perfect today.
It’s about taking meaningful steps toward a better future.
And we’ll be there to support our partners along the way.
1. Animal Welfare
We place great importance on the ethical treatment of animals.
Whether through cruelty-free and vegan products, responsibly sourced recycled wool, or humane breeding and housing standards, brands should demonstrate care and respect for animal life at every stage of production.
2. Transparent & Responsible Supply Chain
Tracing every step from raw materials to final product isn’t easy, but it’s just too important to leave out. So brands that value transparency, use responsibly sourced materials (natural, certified organic, palm oil free, avoiding harmful chemicals) and prioritize being Made in Europe, have a special place in our hearts. We actively encourage brands to measure and reduce their impact, whether through emissions tracking or sustainable sourcing.
3. Circularity
We’re huge fans of brands that think beyond the product’s first life, whether it’s recyclable, upcycled, or compostable. Products that can be returned to the earth (biological cycle) or kept in use longer (technical cycle) are especially welcome.
4. Social Impact
Even more than profits (brands need to be economically sustainable and that’s what we’re all about as well), it’s about people. We ask brands to show us how they’re making a positive difference, whether by ensuring fair working conditions or giving back through charity and community initiatives. Whether they’re a solopreneur or a team, every little effort counts!
5. Craftsmanship
Handmade is heart-made. We celebrate brands that keep traditional skills alive, craft their products with care, or showcase artisanal techniques. Brands don’t have to do it all by hand, but if they’re preserving heritage, they’ve definitely got a special spot here.
6. Sustainable Packaging
Single-use? No thanks! Packaging should be minimal and made from recycled, reusable, or biodegradable materials (in that order!). We’re especially excited by brands that go the extra mile by using recycled packaging or even creating something new from the old. It’s the full circle we love!
